How can I help prevent bulk downloads of files from the site?

Several high profile cases in recent years have shown the dangers of allowing users to have uncontrolled access to documents, opening up the ability to slurp everything from a collaboration system or intranet to pass on to outsiders.

Adding to its existing strong security controls, Jiglu 12.0 has the ability to set limits on downloads. A daily quota can be set for users, with notifications to administrators when a user goes above those limits. On a user profile you can also see how much a user has downloaded that day and can optionally log every download that has taken place.

To enable this option, go to System settings and choose the User limits category. For the Daily download quota setting you can choose how many megabytes to allow a user to download each day. If you wish to log each download you can change the Log downloads option to Yes.
