You can change whether two-factor authentication is enabled by going to System settings and choosing the Security option. There are three choices available:
- Off - two-factor authentication cannot be used by any users.
- Optional - users are given a choice over whether to use two-factor authentication. Those who wish to use it can go to My preferences where they can choose the Two-factor authentication option to configure it.
- Mandatory - users must use two-factor authentication. The first time a user logs on they will need to configure two-factor authentication before they can enter the site.
A new system will default to the Optional choice.
