How do I transfer something useful that someone wrote in a message to a knowledge entry?

Useful information is often included in instant messages or discussion messages that is worth capturing for the long term. The easiest way to do this is to transfer it into a knowledge entry.

These are the steps needed:

1. Click the Transfer button underneath the discussion message or, for an instant message, click the three dots button underneath and then the Transfer option from the pop-up menu.
2. Ensure the Transfer to a new knowledge entry in this space option is selected and click the Continue button.
3. A dialog will now appear on the screen where you can edit the information from the message into the required knowledge entry.

When the entry is viewed it will contain a link back to the original message.

You can also use the transfer functionality to create contributions in other groups. Any instant message, discussion message, knowledge entry, source item, blog post or blog comment that you have access to can be transferred.
