Knowledge entry Can spammers get my address from Jiglu?

To prevent spammers harvesting e-mail addresses from Jiglu.com we don't show any e-mail addresses on the site unless you're logged on. Even if you are logged on, addresses are encoded in a way that makes it hard for spammers to be able to read them.

Knowledge entry How do I delete a space?

Made a mistake? Need to delete a Space? If you go to the Settings page for a Space, at the bottom of the page you should find a 'Delete' link. You'll then need to confirm that you really do want to remove it as once it's gone, it's gone.

Knowledge entry How can I get help on using the system?

We have extensive context sensitive help documentation built in to the system: The first is a "hover" tooltip. Just leave your mouse over the heading of the item you need help with, and a brief caption appears. For more detailed help, click the Help tab at the right hand side of the toolbar. This is context sensitive, so will try to help you at whatever point you find yourself in the system.

Knowledge entry How can I transfer my Yahoo! Group?

You can transfer the messages from a Yahoo! group to Jiglu, using the attached utility. I can claim almost no credit for program whatsoever, apart from packaging it up (It's a perl script originally). Windows only, but anyone who wants it on a different OS, I can explain how. For a list of options, just run it at the command line, or plunge straight in eg yahoo2mbox.

Knowledge entry Why am I not getting any e-mail from you?

Periodically, we may end up on someone's Black List - Not because we are spammers, but because, from time to time, people use an "@jiglu.com" address when they are spamming - Worse still, they sometimes even forge headers to make it look like we are sending these messages from our server Jiglu.

Knowledge entry How does the HTML Editor work? How do I get plain text input?

Two related questions. How does the HTML Editor work? If you are creating items on the web (eg a discussion message or a knowledge entry), or you're replying, you get a text box with an HTML editor (like a word processor for Web pages) One frustration with this is that when you want to reply to a discussion message, you seem to get caught in the original message, with a line on the left hand side, like this: Hello there How are you There are a few...

Knowledge entry Jiglu functionality - Calendar of events with reminders

A little something that came out of a support discussion: A calendar, that sounds like exactly the sort of thing we need also ;) Well, there's a way round everything I am told by those with pointy development hats that we will definitely look at calendaring. However, for those who can't wait, there is an HTML "hack" in the Sandbox (http://testitout.jiglu.

Knowledge entry Why do my members have to register?

Good question - you can join other services by sending an e-mail with a request to join, or even send an e-mail to <group>-... Aren't we shooting ourselves in the foot by not making it easier for people to join? The fact is that in time, all mailing lists and group services will require some registration details, in particular of age.
