Setting up a Space - A quick guide

If you haven't already, click here to start a new Space.

Hopefully, this is fairly painless – We tried hard to update the process and make it easier, based on your feedback

You only need to know:

1. What you want to call the Space eg "My Private Space"

2. What the Space is about, eg "this is a bunch of feeds I like", or "A discussion group about the Citroen DS"

3. Then choose an e-mail address of something @jiglu.com

There is a screen shot below.

Once you have done this, enter the verification code, and click "Save"

Space Template

We have tried to give a few basic templates to get you started – In the main, these will affect how your Home Page looks – The whole Home Page editing thing will appear as a separate article, but for the moment, try to think how you might use your Space – You are not disabling any features by using these different templates, merely accentuating certain elements on your Home Page.

Now you have to decide who can use the Space, and how they interact with the Space.

So first off, "Access to View".

What those buttons mean:

Public – Anyone can view the content, without joining

Open – Anyone can see the description of the Space in the index, but can't see the contents

Private – You would never even know the Space was there – It is completely off the list of Spaces in the System

Then, "Access to Join":

Anyone – As the name suggests, any man and his dog (with small enough paws to use a keyboard) can join – You can bump them off later, and you can even add them to your banned list to stop them coming back.

Approved – Anyone can apply to join, but you have the final say

Private – Only an administrator can add members to the Space

Click Save, and, er, that's it!
