Jiglu functionality - Calendar of events with reminders

A little something that came out of a support discussion:

A calendar, that sounds like exactly the sort of thing we need also ;)

Well, there's a way round everything

I am told by those with pointy development hats that we will definitely look at calendaring.

However, for those who can't wait, there is an HTML "hack" in the Sandbox (http://testitout.jiglu.com)

It's called "2007 Calendar" – If you want to use it, all you have to do if click the "Transfer" button at the bottom of the calendar.

You then follow "Transfer to a knowledge entry in another space:", and use the drop down box to pull up your space.

You then see the calendar in "raw" form.

Make any amendments you might want to make and click Preview

Then on the next screen add or accept any tags you want.

And if you want it on the front page, you need to visit, Settings -> Home Page.

Click "Add Section"
Select "Inline Knowledge Entry"
Put a * in the Search box
Click Search
Select "2007 Calendar"
Click "Save"
Drag and drop the calendar to where you want it
Click "Save".

If people want a reminder of upcoming dates, the best thing to do is set up a newsletter which only contains forthcoming events - You can set it to come out every day or week, and it will tell you whose birthday it is soon etc

I shall no doubt get into trouble for this….
