Feeds, Glorious Feeds
Jiglu was designed from the ground up as a community collaboration and knowledge tool - But because of some of the features we have added, it has the ability to do some pretty smart things from the personal productivity point of view.
One of these is the ability to take a bunch of RSS or Atom feeds, and have Jiglu "read" them, link them, and then pump the relevant information back out at you in a number of different ways.
From the home page checklist go to the feed section.
Start a new feed.
The only potentially confusing option is the "Send as e-mail" button - This allows you to specify whether you want the new feed items to be sent out as live e-mail to Space members or not - If you want a linked version of every feed item in your in-box, say yes, otherwise leave this option alone.
You can add up to 20 different feeds.
Amending the feeds
You need to follow the "Settings" tab, and then "Feeds" - Here you can add, delete or edit your feeds - Click on the feed to edit it
There are more options here than at setup, including the ability to rename the feed, force it to HTML, and to deactivate it of you want.
At present, we do not support OPML
What to do with the feeds
You can take the simple approach, which is to take the feeds as e-mail and then follow any hyperlinks in them, or you can get a little more fancy, using the "Newsletter" functionality.
Newsletter can be automatically produced to feed you the information that is interesting to you - You get to design them, and you get to decide when they are sent - You could, for example, have a newsletter that tells you all of the new topics that have come up in the last 24 hours, and who the new people being talked about are - Or you might want to pick one or two tags, and only get feed items that contain those tags.
You can find Newsletters under "Settings" and then "Newsletters"
