Can you tag a MySpace blog?

Well, sorta....

MySpace is not very widget friendly at the moment, but there is a workaround.

We can take a feed of new tags rom your blog, process it, and then let you serve it back to your home page using a third party provider.  Not perfect, but the best we can do for the moment!

Steps:

1. Go to http://www.jigluhood.com and sign up for a Jiglu space.  If you want to see the Feeds appear on the home page, choose the feeds template, but it is not essential.

2. Select "Settings", and follow the "Feeds" tab

3. Click "Add New Feed".

4. From the MySpace blog, get the URL of the link that says "rss".  Hover your mouse over it, and then click the right button on your mouse.  In IE, select "Copy Shortcut" and in Firefox select "Copy Link Location". and click "Save".

5. Copy the URL into the New feed section, and click "Save"

6. Now go to "Tags", and click "Topics"

7. You will see a little icon that looks like this

8. Do the hovering thing you did above, and copy the shortcut.

9. Go to http://www.widgetbox.com/make_blidget.jsp and paste the shortcut in.

You will now be able to create a new tags widget to add to add to your profile and to share with your friends

At first, the tags may not be great, as the amount of content we get through the feed is not great.  But it will get better over time.  You may also want add some more feeds (you can have up to ten) and aggregate the whole lot!
