Invites issue

9 messages

I've just received an invite url that I was expecting, unfortunately, clicking on the link takes me to a registration page – I dont want to register a new account, I want to use my existing one, but there doesn't seem to be the option to do that.

I seem to be logged in correctly according to the top right of the screen, but my only option seems to be register as a new user of the system.

Hi Nigel.

The main reason I can think of for this happening is that the invite was sent to a different e-mail address than the one you have registered to in the system. If that is the case, then the system will be unable to make a link between the invite and your existing account. Can I just confirm with you that the invite was sent to the address you have registered with?

If this was the case, a way to stop this happening again, is to add another e-mail address to your existing account. You can do this by logging on, then clicking on "My preferences" in the top right of the screen, then clicking on "E-mail addresses".  You can add as many additional addresses as you like, Jiglu will with the exception of invites, only send mail to the main address. But Jiglu will then be able to recognise mail from those addresses as coming from you. You can then ask the space administrator to invite you again, and it should then apply to your existing account, meaning you wont be asked to register again.

Hope this helps, let us know if you have any questions or further issues with this.

Best regards,

Graham.

I find some difficulties with my jiglu account because after the register of some 15 blogs I'm unable to register new blogs now.
May you help me.

Hi Filipe.

The system only allows a maximum number of external sites and pages within those sites to be tagged together under the free service. You can either upgrade to one of the paid for professional services we will be offering in the coming weeks, or alternatively create additional community spaces in the system, and attach other sites to those spaces up to a maximum of 3 per space. However, only those sites within the same space will be linked directly together.

Hope that answers your question.

Best regards,

Graham.

Ah! Thanks Graham, that does seem to be the issue, but unfortunately when I try and add / change email address I'm getting this error:

"Sorry, there is a problem with the system. Please try again later."

Hi Nigel.

Looks like there is an issue with that part of the system. I am looking into the problem now to hopefully have it fixed soon. In the meantime, I think I have worked around it in your case, so if possible, could you please try again?

Sorry about the problems with this.

Best regards,

Graham.

Nope. It's still all the broken.

The email change thing now works fine, which is groovy, but now the invite email that is the same as the one registered to my Jiglu account and I'm still getting the register new account page when I click on the link in the email.

Many thanks. You answer 5/5.
I hope your professional services are at a good price.

Hi Nigel.

I finally think I understand what is happening now. I think the invite went out before you updated your e-mail address, so it again hasn't associated the invite with you properly. I will raise an issue here and get that fixed for a future version.

In the meantime, as I can clearly verify that an invite has been sent to your address, I have gone ahead and made you a member of the space so you aren't messed around anymore. I hope that is ok with you.

Sorry for the problems here, and thankyou for working with me to get to the bottom of it.

Graham.
