You will hopefully receive a copy of this direct from me, but I wanted to have a copy here as well.
We have been muttering about big changes for a few months now, and the time has come to announce what is going on.
We're making some big improvements to Jiglu, and wanted you, as one of our loyal users, to hear about it first.
For some time, we have realised that there is a whole load of content out on the web, in blogs, wikis, and other web pages, that could benefit from some Jiglu thinking: taking our core tagging and linking technology, and adding it to content that is out there already.
We've spent the last 4 months perfecting this (with the help of a number of people from this space), at the same time adding a load more functionality to the community product, and we're going live with it next week
*What does this mean for you?*
The big change is that if you have a blog, you can let Jiglu tag it for you, intelligently and automatically.
If you run a space, and you have a blog that you want to connect to it, then you'll be able to do that too.
We'll send out full instructions when the new Jiglu.com site is live next week.
The main change you will actually see is on your personal home page, which will have a new look and feel. If you are not logged in automatically, there will be a button on the public home page pointing you to Jiglu Communities.
If you run a space, then we have added in the ability to upload your own banner and icons.
As time goes on, the whole look and feel of the community side will become sleeker, and we'll be introducing the option to have lots of spaces grouped under your own URL, with your own branding.
We've made big improvements to the tagging system, and you will see the system producing more and more useful tags, together with a better Tag Map visualisation of what is in your space.
There are also some more subtle changes, which we will detail, such as easier password retrieval, which has been a bit of a bug bear for some.
We're really excited about this. There's a whole load of content out there, just waiting to be tagged.
When it's all gone live, we'll drop you another mail, and we hope you'll take advantage of our new functionality
We're taking the opportunity to update the T's and C's as well, to take account of the new tagging function, and you can find them if you look on the Support home page.
All the best
Nigel
